FishTime - Bar Crusher 615C

FishTime (Vessel Registration/Callsign 58962) is a 2020 cuddy-cabin Bar Crusher 615C available for commercial aquatic scientific work under Neira Marine Sciences Consulting (Marscco; ABN 63 611 453 621). The vessel is operated by the owner who is Marscco’s Sole Trader and holds a current Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal - Certificate No. NC53118).

The vessel falls under AMSA’s Category 2 operations (non-passenger vessel – up to 12 passengers) and has been certified and approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) to operate as a non-survey vessel in Class D (partially smooth waters) and E (smooth waters) in Tasmania (estuaries and coastal marine areas) under exemption EX02-9542. The vessel’s Unique Vessel Identifier (UVI) is 463182.

FishTime is licensed to carry a maximum of six people including the skipper. The vessel is fitted with a four-stroke Yamaha 150 hp outboard (F150XB; S/N 63P 1256244); an internal fuel tank of 220L capacity; a dual battery system with an isolation switch; an electronic ballast flap and starboard and port Lectrotab trim tabs; a Stressfree, winch-operated SARCA anchor; a high-pressure deck wash; a bait board and live bait tank; and a step-through transom fitted with a heavy-duty ladder to climb on board from diving.

A Safety Management System (SMS) developed for FishTime describes the safe operation of the vessel, and the provision of a safe and healthy working environment for the Owner/Master and passengers and pollution prevention. The SMS follows the 2023 guidelines developed by AMSA for owners and operators of Class 2 domestic commercial vessels (DCV) and is available on request.
